A New Art Folder

A party for an 8-year old a few weeks back, meant I put on my thinking cap for a useful present I could make. It was for a classmate of my DS. I do find boys a bit harder to make for, but most kids tend to like to draw or write, so I settled on an art folder.

The fabric was approved by DS :)

I decided to make it a bit different to the last one I made, and have the pencils in a pencil case type part.

This works rather well, but the velcro can be a little sticky - may need to rethink the application if I make it again :)

Cheers!

Great gift!
Yep... the boys do seem to be a bit tricker once they get a bit older. I'm racking my brain for ideas for the festive season. Loving your idea very much and your DS made a great fabric choice. Fabulous.

lovely folder and pencil case -

I use velcro on mine too, but I add a little tab poppin up under the velcro on the inside of the back piece so that you can pull it apart more easily ... works wonders!!
